How to remove warnings of Axial force and Axial moment in Plinth beams

 


Tekla Structural Designer is an advanced software used for Structural Analysis and Design of a Building. In Tekla we can do detailing of steel structures as well as RCC structures. We can create RCC buildings and we can insert the rebars in Tekla structures Designer software.  We can also do the form works and structural drawing without the help of any other softwares .

So let’s go step by step to remove warnings of axial force and axial moment in plinth beams:

Step 1

We have a model which is fully loaded and designed. As we can see there is a warning which is showing in all the plinth beams. Actually, this is a common warning which is shown in most of the cases. We will just right click on it, Check member then go to static option and also to design member static. So there we can find the spelling due to axial force and minor axis moment.

Now, we will go to the Result view and then we will just try to find out the axial force due to in particular loads combination. So as we can see, this is an axial force which has been generated. It is the highest at the bottom level. So this axial force creates a kind of push and pull in a particular building.

If we go back to the structure view and switch on the Dead imposed load and  we don’t have any particular slab here and there is no imposed load applied. So the moment is unable to balance it but on site we can apply some PCC after the sand filling inside the periphery wall. So we can do something in the software to balance it by applying some methods.

Next fig. 4 is our base. So let’s go to the Model and select the steel deck. So we will just select some steel deck and provide it with a lambda structure and we can provide the level load in the dead load section of 5 KN/m2.

So we have provided the dead loads. So the purpose is to create some moments so that it can balance the particular axial force generated. So we move to design and then design house static.

So after the design, as we can see now we don’t have any warnings. So the beams are either passing or failing. So we can just click on it and just change the properties of the member and we can make the beam pass

How to convert the load units in TSD (Tekla Structural Designer)

 




Tekla Structural Designer is an advanced software used for Structural Analysis and Design of a Building. In Tekla we can do detailing of steel structures as well as RCC structures. We can create RCC buildings and we can insert the rebars in Tekla structures Designer software.  We can also do the form works and structural drawing without the help of any other software .

Let’s go step by step to convert the loads in TSD:

Step 1

In Fig.1, to change the units of loads from KN to Tonne Force , we can just go to our home option and then we can go to the model setting. In the model setting , we can select the codes of our country in which we have to design the building and units too.

As we proceed to the unit section, we can see various types of units in which we want to change and after changing the unit just click on ok. So this is the process by which we can change the units from KN/m to TN/m.

How to Animate Displacements or Analysis results in TSD

 Tekla Structural Designer is an advanced software used for Structural Analysis and Design of a Building. In Tekla we can do detailing of steel structures as well as RCC structures. We can create RCC buildings and we can insert the rebars in Tekla structures Designer software.  We can also do the form works and structural drawing without the help of any other softwares .

Let’s go step by step to Animate Analysis Results in TSD :

As we can see in fig.1, we have taken one model that is fully analyzed and designed.

Now we will go to the result view and after going to the result view, then next we will turn on the things we want like deflections and also we can turn on the values of deflections and we can also increase or decrease the scale of deflections.

As in the figure, we can see that we have done the right click and then click on animate. After that we will see that the results are being animated.

 Bar bending schedule is a list of reinforcement bars, a given RCC work item, and is presented in a tabular form for easy visual reference. How to take offsets in Analysis and Design results in TSD software

 Tekla Structural Designer is advanced software used for Structural Analysis and Design of a Building. In Tekla we can do detailing of steel structures as well as RCC structures. We can create RCC buildings and we can insert the rebar in Tekla structures Designer software.  We can also do the form works and structural drawing without help of any other software.

Let’s go step by step to learn about designed results in TSD.

Step 1

As we can see in fig.1, we have taken one model that is fully analyzed and designed.

After  that, we will go to the Result view option and we can select a particular load combination. Then turn on the results and select shear measures. After that we can see the shear force model .

So for offsets, we will go to the Home option. Then, we will go to the model setting and then select the option of analysis model and just click on the rigid zone not applied option and then click on ok.

In the image, we can see that it’s starting from the point where the column starts. So, we can see it is not starting from the beam point. like this we can see offsets for the whole model.

AAC BLOCKS: PROS AND CONS

 AAC stands for Autoclaved Aerated Concrete is a light weight concrete material used for manufacturing of building blocks. 

Let’s know more about ACC block :

  • AAC Blocks are called Autoclaved Aerated Concrete.

  • Autoclaved implies that these blocks are burnt in a furnace.

  • Aerated implies that there are voids present in the AAC blocks and are completely made of Concrete.

SIZES:

 As per IS-2185 Part-III, clause3.2

  • AAC blocks come in lengths of 400mm, 500mm or 600mm.

  • AAC blocks come in height exactly half of the length i.e., of 200mm, 250mm or 300mm.

  • AAC blocks come in width of 100mm,150mm,200mm or 250mm

 

  • During the Islamic period, all methods of tile decoration were brought to perfection in Persia.

ADVANTAGES 

1. Porous in nature

2.    Require less quantity of mortar because the surfaces are smooth and            levelled.                     

3. Curing required is also very less. It requires only sprinkles of water.

4. It can be cut easily with the help of a drill or an ordinary saw.

5. One of the biggest features of AAC blocks is its lightweight.

6. Easy to handle and requires less labour.

 

DISADVANTAGES 

1. It is a non-load bearing material. The bearing capacity of AAC blocks is            very low. As per IS2185 its bearing capacity is 4 N/mm2, which is very low.

2. It is slightly brittle in nature.

 

 THINGS TO BE DONE BEFORE PROCUREMENT:

  • MTC is Manufacturing Test Certificate, it needs to be procured from the vendor to ensure the quality of the AAC blocks.

  • After the preparation of AAC blocks it should be subjected to a curing period of 28 days.

  • After curing it should be allowed to dry for 15 days to make sure there is no dry shrinkage as it may lead to shrinkage or expansion.

USAGE:

  • We should provide runners to support the AAC blocks.

  • If the floor height is 3m and the depth of beam is 0.2m, i.e., the casting of AAC blocks needs to be done for a height of 2.8m and assuming no runners are provided. At a height of 1.2m we can provide a RCC runner, i.e., a RCC beam to support the AAC block casting in order to prevent development of cracks in the AAC blocks.

  • We can also provide columns called stub columns, for a span more than 6m.
